"Lucy's sessions have helped me feel more grounded and in control. Thank you." – Tom, Barnet
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is learning how to focus more efficiently on the present moment. By doing this, it has been scientifically proven to regulate a person’s emotional state which in turn can enhance productivity within the workplace. Mindfulness is a life skill, not a therapy, and I help support clients with a set of tools which can be used in everyday life.

What Mindfulness practices involve
-
Learning how to fully direct our focus to the task at hand
-
Recognising habitual reactions to stress and how to deal with difficult situations in a more responsive way
-
Understanding our autopilot behaviour and learning how to step out of it if necessary
-
Focusing on the breath in a very specific way to use it as a physical anchor
I get a lot of positive feedback as to how ‘invisible’ the practices are. Adults say they tap into them in the board room just before giving a presentation, when they have to make/take a difficult phone call...even en route to a meeting!
What Mindfulness practices DON'T involve

-
Any religious connotations
-
Sitting in silence for looong periods of time
-
Looking like we're trying to 'practice' meditation
-
Focusing on just one thing
About Me
I have a Bed(Hons) degree in education from Kingston University and have taught in a variety of state and private schools across London, covering both single-sexed and mixed school environments.

I took a break from teaching when my three children were born although carried on teaching English and Music privately. It was through doing this work that I became aware of the effect stress and anxiety can have on the mind as well as the body and how this can affect our learning and productivity.
I completed a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course (MBSR) which then enabled me to complete training with the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP). I have since taken this mind & body awareness into the corporate sector, helping teams deal with a range of issues including: communicating with difficult colleagues, tight deadlines, anxious presentations and anxiety mapping within daily diaries.
